Meet Your Captain
Welcome aboard! My name is Captain Maxwell Schweikert—a passionate topwater fisherman and nature enthusiast. I’m 26 years old and a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where I earned a degree in Geography and Sustainable Planning. Growing up in Michigan, I developed a profound love for the outdoors, which led me to pursue a career that combines my two greatest passions: fishing and wildlife photography.
I’ve been fishing my whole life, but I became truly obsessed about 15 years ago when I discovered that bass will leap out of the water to strike something moving on the surface. Since then, I’ve traveled the country in my RV, spending a month or two at a time at some of the best lakes in the U.S.
When I’m not fishing or snapping wildlife photos, I enjoy playing guitar, pickleball, walking, reading, doing yoga, working out, meditating, editing photos and videos, and cooking.
As your fishing or nature guide, my goal is to provide you with an unforgettable adventure—whether you’re casting a line for the first time, exploring the outdoors, or capturing stunning wildlife photography. I want every trip to be enjoyable, educational, and full of smiles and laughter. My aim is to create a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere where you leave the boat feeling refreshed, inspired, and more connected to Mother Nature.
